Quick Overview

Silage is grass which is cut and baled with a higher moisture content than hay and then wrapped tightly in plastic which induces the grass to ferment. The result is a very nutritious feed for horses, cattle and sheep. It is a hay bale with seven or eight biscuits inside and wrapped.

These are this seasons mini silage bales produced from local grasses and are of good quality.

Delivery charge of .75 cents per bale included in the price.

What is the difference between Silage and Haylage?

Silage is baled at a higher moisture content in the grass and is generally a more moist feed. Haylage is baled with a lower moisture content in the grass.

 

Note: Once bale has been opened. It can be left open in the paddock for up to 5 days before it will go off. You can feed out gradually by unwrapping and removing what you need to feed out and then wrapping it back up so that it remains air tight
